Alba Sud is an independent center, which fosters tourism research from critical perspectives. The Barcelona-based center organizes its so-called ‘Escuela de verano’ for the third time from 17 until 20 June 2024. The summer school will take place at the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Barcelona and will provide a space to explore the transformation of tourism from critical perspectives.
The diverse program of the Alba Sud Summer School includes conferences on topics such as the relationship between crises, metropolises and tourism as well as the ecological crisis in the context of tourism. Moreover, roundtable discussions will take place on topics such as degrowth and post-capitalist tourism, agrotourism as well as socio-ecological conflicts in tourism.
