TO DO Award 2026: Finalists Announced

Tourism is an important economic driver for many destinations, but for it to be sustainable, local communities must meaningfully benefit from tourism development. With its international TO DO Award, the Study Group for Tourism and Development e.V. honours initiatives that actively enable local people to participate in, and have a voice in, tourism projects and services.

The six finalists of the 2026 TO DO Award competition are: 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking from Nepal, WildyNess from Tunisia, CBT in the Kichwa Community of Oyacachi from Ecuador, Suyatri Community Tourism from India, Ruboni Tourism Village from Uganda, and TGC Homestays from South Africa.

Details on how each initiative promotes community participation and involvement in tourism activities – and which projects will ultimately receive the award – can be found on the website of the Study Group for Tourism and Development (Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung e.V.).
