On Friday, 13th of March EED-Tourism Watch realized a presentation on Corporate Social Responsiblity in Practise under the title: "Sun, Sand and Sustainable Tourism".
Jennifer Seif (Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa) and Rosemary Viswanath (Equations, India) presented together with ECPAT Germany and ECPAT Netherlands their experience with the implementation of the "Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from sexual exploitation in Travel and Tourism".
Michael Awad from Palestine presented the "Code of Conduct for Travelling in the Holy Land" which was launched by the Palestinian Initiative for responsible Tourism (PIRT).
TourCert (Association for the Labelling of CSR-reports in Tourism) handed the lable CSRcertified over to 12 small and medium enterprises.
In the context of Climate Change EED -Tourism Watch called on the travel industry to reduce their emissions and not to use CSR as a fig leaf.
