Melting glaciers in Nepal

In the Himalayas, melting glaciers lead to increased flooding along the rivers of the region, affecting large regions in South Asia. Thomas Döhne reports from Nepal, where the Kosi river has caused major damage and has displaced more than three million people in Nepal and the Indian state of Bihar. Climate change also affects the tourism sector, as in situations of emergency it becomes more difficult to cater to the needs of tourists. The tourist experience is affected by what the melting ice and snow have started to reveal along the mountain trails: not only the waste left behind by earlier groups and expeditions, but also well-preserved dead bodies have been found.
